YOU SHOULD ONLY GO DIRECTLY TO ACCIDENT AND EMERGENCY IN CASES OF REAL EMERGENCY, SUCH AS SEVERE CHEST PAIN OR BREATHLESSNESS, LOSS OF CONSCIOUSNESS, BLOOD LOSS OR A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
Please do not attend the Accident and Emergency Department when the practice is open.
Using accident and emergency departments for non-urgent conditions is not the best use of NHS resources and listed below are other options that you may not already know about to assist you in accessing medical care here at the Nightingale practice.
Please remember that we are available to help you and can offer telephone advice, Nurse and GP appointments Monday to Friday from 8:30am until 6.30pm (Early surgery’s (Extended hours appointments) are available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings which can be pre-booked by speaking to a Gp in the usual way ). You can also arrange an appointment on a Saturday morning again by calling and speaking to the GP.
You can arrange routine appointments by calling the practice between 08:30am to 11:30am and 2:30pm to 5:30pm. The receptionist will put your name onto a doctors call back list. The doctor will call you back. If you have an urgent medical problem please advise the receptionist, your call will be prioritised by the doctor.
If you have an urgent medical problem you can also call the practice anytime between 08:00am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday. You will need to advise the receptionist that you have an urgent problem that won’t wait. Your name will be added to a doctors list and will call you back and give you a suitable appointment.
City and Hackney doctors also have a range of HUB appointments that they can book patients into. The HUB’s run from local surgeries and are staffed by GP’s and receptionists.
The HUBs are open from 18:30 – 20:00 on weekdays and 08:00 to 20:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. You will need to speak to a doctor to book one of these appointments.
